Christmas Fun Shoot

WOW, what a weekend of fun at the recent Manning Christmas shoot.  OK, it rained on and off on Saturday, that still didn't frighten the fifty or so archers from arriving with their vans and tents for the weekend shoot.

A delicious roast and pudding Christmas dinner was had Saturday night. Christmas tree, lights and decoration where up at the club house and looked fantastic. The visiting archers commented how wonderful and festive it looked.

Saturday night, well what can be said, it was the funnies show we have ever seen. A husband and wife, Mike and Gloria Potter, from Kempsey put on a comedy act which had everyone in stitches and they could not stop laughing.  Mike dress up as a woman, sat behind a sheet with his head poke through it and Gloria was behind Mike trying to put make up on his face which she couldn't see, well you can image what he looked like. Mike had make up all over his face, he had a beard. An Irish lady told jokes and with her accent, it made the jokes very funny and there where archers who had a problem understanding her so Mike stood up and tried to play out what she was saying.  A young fellow played his guitar and most archers sang along, having a good time.

Sunday morning the archers set off to shoot and finish the weekend. When the last of the archers where finished it started to rain lightly. It rained while they where packing up their gear to travel home, not very nice.
Because it was a fun shoot, there were no trophies, handed out. Mike Potter handed out a certificate to the winners.

The next Christmas Shoot will be held at the Macleay Club at Kempsey in 2014.
