WORKING BEE

Thank you to members that were able to attend the WORKING BEE on Saturday.

A fair amount of work was acheived. Dan, Bob, Denis and James made 11 butts, a record of three bags in one day.

Max and Dean did a great job on one of two bow case benches.

Mal worked endlessly on the guttering. Wes worked on the rangers.

Gail, Wendy and Irene but a shine back in the canteen after the red dust covered everything.

Last but not lest, Kimmy for writing up the new menu.

If anyone was missed, sorry.

Job well done by all.

Hope to see you and others at the next WORKING BEE 5 December for the last tidy up before the Christmas Shoot.

CHRISTMAS SHOOT

The Manning will be holding the Christmas shoot this year.
It will be the weekend of 12 - 13 December.
It would be greatly appreciated if we could have members or and family to help out in the canteen all day Saturday and Sunday up to lunch time.

Yes, I know we always depend on the generosity of our members to donate a prize.

CLUB CHRISTMAS PARTY

Our Christmas Party will follow after the AGM.
It would be appreciated if you could bring a plate of nibbles, e.g. ( nuts, lollies, chips, crackers and dips), or a dessert.
All meats, salads and drinks will be provided.
Also, feel free to camp over as there will be a fun shoot on Sunday.

Avon Valley 3D Shoot

Avon Valley will be holding the ABA Northern NSW Branch Club Shoot on 24 -25 October.This involves teams of three, shooting the same division.

If interested in getting a team together, let Gail know as nominations must be in very soon.

This sounds like a lot of fun.

Wet Weather Didn't Dampen Spirits

This however didn't stop 21 archers from our club attending, with 16 of those placing the top of their divisions,
Nobody seemed to complain about the weather.
Probably the best mud runner was Wes bull who shoot a 396 out of 400 in one of the four rounds, great shooting Wes.
In Cub division: Coming in 1st Logan Peck, came away as State Cub Bare Bow Champion. well done logan. Followed close behind, his brother Cooper Peck.
In Junior division: Coming in 2nd Jack Bull and Adam Mowbray.
In Senior division: Coming in 1st James Dowson, Rowan griffths, Gail Taylor, Karl peck, Mal Gorton, Liam Mowbray and Mark Fotheringham. 2nd Wes Bull and Rob Taylor. 3rd James Fotheringham and Denis Holden.

SCOUTS VISIT

A group of cub scouts uisited the club on 30 September to give archery a try. It was said, they had a good time. They liked it so much, their wanting to come back.
That is great news.

CAMP MEMORY

As you know, we show the camp memory kids how to do archery each year.
There is an other camp coming up on the Saturday 21 November, between 9am to 4pm.
As always we are asking for volunteers to help show and help the kids with the bows and arrows as they have diffrent degrees of disabilities.
They are a wonderful bunch of kids, you will get just as much enjoyment out of this as the kids do.
Any help will be apprecaited.
If you are able to help, please let Dan know.

KEMPSEY SHOOT

A great weekend was had by all at the last of the interclub shoots at Kempsey for this year.
Our club had 11 members attend the shoot. The weather was great. Most of the weekend was fine and sunny, it only sprinkled when the shot of the day was finished.
It was a very relaxing weekend.
Macleay Valley 1st, Manning 2nd and Avon Valley 3rd.

FUEL SAVER ECO SHOOT

Our club held there Eco Shoot last week and 19 members took part.

Which is not bad for the first Eco shoot.

Our members were willing to participate in this event.

There were some very high scores also.

LOST STRINGS

A plastic bag with two 70" FLUORO GREEN RECURVE STRINGS (BCY 8125) was thought to be left at our club during the INTERCLUB shoot in July.

If anyone has seen these strings,(which are rather valuable). Please inform Liam or Mark Mowbray.

FUEL SAVER ECO SHOOT

New ABA MAIL MATCH Competition.

This shoot was proposed to emphasise ABA's green credentials and to contribute our part in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and global warming by making a national shoot available to members without them having to travel huge distances to attend.We hope all members will get behind this shoot, to see how they go against their peers.

WORKING BEE

Thanks to every member who was able to come to the working bee on Saturday 25 July, all your work was greatly appreacated and you all did a fantastic job.
The IFAA range is now up and running, thanks to members who measured, moved butts, painted pegs and racked.
It is a great range, very adventures and diffrent to ABA and 3D. It has pleasant atmosphere about it.
When the 80yarder is shot, it will be like shooting all the way to Nabiac, Ha Ha.
Also the chimney for the fireplace was finished and looks great.

Interclub Shoot - 3D

Hi Archers

We hope that a good time was had by all at our interclub shoot.
Our club had 34 shooters, a great attendence. All up there was 56 shooters.
Thanks to Mick and his best mate, the canteen was up and running and kept busy over the weekend. The hot chips went well with the weather being a bit on the cool side.
We had great weather for the weekend, which I'm sure everyone appreated.
Taree is know for its wet weekends when there is a shoot to be held.
I know there were a few archers who did a Personal Best and I was one of them, (Irene), congratulations to those archers.
Macleay Valley came in first with us coming second and Avon Valley third.
Hope to see as many of you again at Macleay for the last leg of the interclub shoots for this year.
The Macleay shoot will be held on the 29 & 30 of August, shooting ABA.

WORKING BEE

A BIG BIG THANK YOU TO ALL MEMBERS WHO TOOK PART IN THE WORKING BEE TODAY.

There was a very large turn up, it was great to so many members of all ages.

You should all be very proud of yourselves for doing such a great job.

The club house and the surrounding grounds look fantastic, there will be a lot of happy campers at the shoot next week.

The club newsletter may have to be cancelled before it gets of the ground, because members haven't send any news to Lyn Pender to publish the July club newsletter.
Without any information makes it hard to print a newletter.
If members are wanting the club newsletter to continue, then please get in touch with Lyn.
Some of you must have funny stories tell, when you were away at shoots that you would like to share with others.
Also how the shoot went and the weather.
Any news of interest will be accepted.

INDOOR SHOOT

Indoor shooting is held every second Friday night.
The next indoor will be on 19th of this month.
Shooting starts at 6pm till 9pm.
If you wish you can come a little earlier and have a BBQ for your dinner,(supling your own food)before shooting comences.
